HVAC Ductwork Installation For Corporate Buildings

There is a trend in commercial and corporate real estate. An increasing number of developers are starting to develop older properties. one of the main areas of the buildings that need upgrades and installation services deals with the HVAC system. Specifically, the upgrades deal with HVAC ductwork installation. Before you consider buying a corporate building that requires HVAC system upgrades, consider what you should know about the ductwork installation process.

Design

The first step to HVAC ductwork installation is design. Even if existing ductwork is in place, you need to have the design evaluated to determine if anything should be added or changed. In some cases, the ductwork may not reach the entirety of the building. You may also find that your HVAC service provider suggests having the old ductwork removed and rerouted in order to provide proper airflow throughout the entire building. Once you decide on the specific points regarding the design, you will agree to the changes and the installation process will begin.

Removal And Replacement

In many cases, older buildings that have existing ductwork will need to have that ductwork removed. There are several reasons for this, the main reason being the age of the ductwork and components that were used in it. There may be allergy-causing agents or cancer-causing agents within the old ductwork. You also may have the issue of rust or other damage that could lead to the ductwork failing. For this reason, your contractor will likely start the installation process by removing the old ductwork. Once this is removed, the replacement and installation can begin.

Installation

During the installation, you may be told that other construction and upgrades can occur. However, having other workers in the building or trying to run operations as normal may not be a good idea. Keep in mind there is still dust and other debris that occurs during the removal and installation processes. This means you will need to make sure the area is cleared out for the installation and other construction and then cleaned properly once the installation is finished.

If you decide to buy an older corporate building or commercial property to renovate, and you know it needs ductwork, contact a local commercial HVAC company. They can help you with assessing and inspecting the area to determine what ductwork needs to be installed. They can also help you with the proper installation and other HVAC issues your building may be facing.
